I Know What Families Need in a Home — Because I’ve Lived It

When I walk through a home for my clients, I look at it through a critical lens — as if I were buying it for my own family. As a mum of three teenagers, I’ve experienced every stage of family life, and I know firsthand how much a home needs to evolve to support each one.

Homes Need to Grow With You

In the baby and toddler years, safety is everything. If a home isn’t suited to little ones — with stairs, sharp corners, or open access to hazards — you’re living in constant vigilance. It’s exhausting, and your home should feel like a place to exhale.

As kids hit primary school age, they need space to run, play, and burn off that boundless energy — ideally outdoors. Having a yard, or even a great local park or playground nearby (like the one behind my first tiny 3-bedroom home!), can be a game-changer.

By the time they reach the teenage years, space becomes emotional as well as physical. These growing, independent humans need room to retreat — but still be close enough to reconnect when they’re ready. That’s why well-zoned living areas are key. It’s about balance: privacy and shared connection.

And then comes the next phase — maybe you’re thinking about space for elderly parents, or planning for when your kids become young adults. Each stage matters, and your home should support you through all of them.

I Won’t Let You Compromise on What Matters

When I search for a home on your behalf, I consider all of these things — lifestyle, layout, functionality, future needs. Because I’ve lived them too. I know what to look for, and what can’t be overlooked.

Your needs are valid. Your home should reflect the life you’re building — not just the one you’re living right now.

Don’t compromise on what matters.
It’s your life. Let’s find a home that fits it.
